~ One Pound ~ The day was oh so sunny My kids didn’t find it funny
Each game of ball they played
"It’s just too hot!" they exclaimed
Ice lollies all round I gave
Their brows I tried to save
The sun above ablaze
Didn’t cease us to amaze
With water hose in hand
I sprayed them all around
With shouts of joy and glee
My little ones were free
So when the day was done
The sun so gladly gone
My little ones exclaimed
Oh what fun we attained
To piggy banks they dashed
Their pennies oh so stashed
"Mum for all you did today...
